First record of Tridacna crocea Lamarck, 1819 (Bivalvia, Cardiidae) from Patnanungan Island, Philippines 

We present a new record and information on the distribution of IUCN listed Tridacna crocea Lamarck, 1819 in Philippines. The Patnanungan Island extends known this species by 80 km east nearest previously occurrence. collected specimens are found shallow water at depth 3 m, exhibit relatively small size, showed characteristic completely burrowing its valves coral substrates. DNA barcoding was also done, constructed phylogenetic tree demonstrated that giant clams created monophyletic group.   has wide is abundant throughout Philippine reefs. recommend updating population status stock assessment country for local regulation conservation management.
